My journey from rejection of self to embracing of self was twenty-eight years long—more than half my life. Had I known the amazing sense of freedom, the peace through reconciliation, the liberation of bringing my secrets into the light, the power of living authentically, I would have smashed down the prison walls much earlier. My journey now, it seems, is to bridge the gap between my two worlds and the people I love and help them see the good in each other. ('A Life of Unlearning' p.395)

Creating a space can be difficult. I had to face my own fears and religiosity but this is part of my journey.
I am a Christian and have created a space by placing myself on the freedom to be forum. Hopefully by creating meaningful communication it will help break down the walls that exist between the Christian and homosexual community.
welcome to the space. I take it you are a heterosexual christian then who would like to see change.
I really love the Creating a Space for Change slideshow. I am at the point of becoming more of an advocate and hope to bring enlightenment to the church and break down the prejudice and lack of knowledge.
I am so truly sorry for the way so-called Christians have treated GLBT people.
I have previously been uncomfortable and have acted in ignorance. I quickly moved to acceptance and affirmation...and now to advocacy.
So I know it can happen. People can change. Its time the church began to show more of the acceptance and understanding towards gays, that the rest of the world does.
I can see that this is a valuable tool to use to educate Christians.
Thank you, Sue
thanks Sue.....welcome to the journey
